PROGRAMS
Basic Reading and English as a Second Language is provided as free one-on-one or small group instruction for adults who need help with literacy skills or who need help to speak, read, and write English.
The Library Literacy Project is a cooperative effort with the Victoria Public Library to provide adult new readers materials and to encourage the use of the library. Students can get a library card and learn to locate and check out books.
Tutor Training is provided by VALC at which tutors receive relevant training to become certified and are assigned a student. No previous teaching experience is necessary for certification, but must be a high school or GED graduate. Please contact the VALC office at (361) 582-4273 if you are interested in becoming a Literacy Superhero!
